Now dabbling in accessories full-time, parker+paige adds their 1st jewelry line to their Facebook Store: BelleStyle Bijoux.  Beginning this Friday (May 20, 2011), 6 exclusive items will go up for sale on parker+paige’s Facebook storefront at: http://www.facebook.com/parkerandpaige

From now until December 31, 2011, for every piece of jewelry you purchase from parker+paige, one brand new item will be given to a student at the Kiberia School for Girls in Kenya.  This pledge is in accordance with parker+paige’s initial one for one pledge since the company’s inception, that for every purchase made, parker+paige will give one brand new (matching) item to a child in need.

The deal was brokered between the company’s founders: Paige Lemann of parker+paige, and Heather Korn of BelleStyle.  The two first met while appearing on KPLR News Channel 11 together for their participation in Pink Friday a pop-up shop held in St. Louis, MO on Black Friday 2010.

Limited amounts of certain items may occur for one-of-a-kind pieces, but inventory will be updated throughout the year with new pieces every season.

In addition, parker+paige’s Founder, Paige Lemann, is now a part of the BelleStyle team, working as their East Coast Wholesales Sales Representative.  This latest addition to the parker+paige team of emerging fashion designers signifies a real transition for parker+paige as a company from online retailer specializing in emerging fashion designers, to a fashion company that advances the careers of emerging designers through wholesale representation, retail sales, and public relations.

This will be the 2nd accessories line for parker+paige, who first introduced accessories with the addition of Marla Cielo handbags in March 2011.

parker+paige seal the deal on their 1st charity partnership with brand new school uniforms & bags for students at the Kiberia School for Girls in Kenya.

This partnership signifies the completion of parker+paige’s public promise to donate one new item to a child in need for each one purchased from their store.

From parker+paige’s launch in March 2010 to the end of the year this year (December 31, 2011), for every piece of clothing you purchase, one brand new school uniform will be given to a student at the Kiberia School for Girls, and for every accessory you purchase (purses, jewelry, etc.) one brand new school bag will be given to a student at the school.

Purchases can be made online from the privacy & convenience of Facebook at www.facebook.com/parkerandpaige, or (for non-Facebook users) on their Storenvy site at www.parkerandpaige.storenvy.com

This one for one pledge, inspired by TOMS Shoes, was one of the initial reasons founder Paige Lemann started the company last year.

Uniforms, which consist of a white peter pan collar button-down blouse, pleated skirt or jumper, and matching bloomers has an estimated cost of $12 per student, which represents more than 10% of profits from clothing sales.

School bags (pictured in pink) are standard nylon backpacks with zipper closure & padded straps for comfort-carry, and will be monogrammed with the school’s name & parker+paige’s logo.  parker+paige has agreed to pay no more than $20 per bag, which represents more than 50% of profits from accessories sales.
